We are thrilled to introduce Carlos, our newest addition to the clinic. Carlos brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for helping others on their journey to better mental health. His approach is already making a positive impact on our team and our clients.
Carlos's philosophy is simple yet profound: "Browsing this text means you are already starting a process. It's acknowledging that there is something to explore, understand, modify, and embrace. It’s opening the door to new perspectives, better self-knowledge, and more fulfilling ways of living."
Carlos offers a confidential and welcoming space where you can share your life story, including pains and traumatic events, without judgment. His goal is to help you find new meanings in your past and present experiences.
Carlos graduated with a degree in psychology in 2013 and has since worked with adults, adolescents, and groups in private practice. He has also been involved in projects promoting peace culture and human rights, using an intersectional approach.
He has expertise in treating a wide range of issues, including:
- Depression and crisis situations
- Anxiety and its manifestations
- Family and relationship conflicts
- Grief and romantic breakups
- Trauma, abuse, and neglect
- Domestic violence and exposure to violence
- Racism and its impact on mental health
- Personality disorders
- Workplace harassment
- Cultural adaptation difficulties
- Suicidal thoughts
- Schizophrenia and psychotic disorders
Carlos employs an integrative therapeutic approach, primarily drawing from psychodynamic and systemic therapies. This allows him to offer a multidimensional view of mental health, considering systemic and cultural aspects of relationships that influence individual well-being. He takes into account the transgenerational aspects of the patient's history and their social context.
Each therapy is unique and tailored to meet the specific needs of each person. Carlos aims to build a strong therapeutic alliance based on mutual trust and respect. In a climate of trust and active listening, you will explore the sources of your difficulties together and work on developing personalized solutions.
Carlos works with adults and adolescents and is an intern on the path to obtaining equivalence with the Order of Psychologists of Quebec. He specializes in marital and family therapy with a systemic approach and speaks both French and Portuguese.
Please join us in welcoming Carlos to our clinic. We are confident that his expertise and compassionate approach will greatly benefit our community.
